01What this covers

PrivatU is not trading yet. There is no shop, no checkout and no payment on this site. Nothing here can be bought, so nothing here collects the information buying would require.

This notice covers exactly two things you can do on this site: join the notify list, and send an enquiry. That is the whole surface. When ordering opens, this page will be replaced with a longer one covering orders, delivery and warranty, and we will date the change.

Contact for anything on this page: hello@privatu.com.au.

02What we never collect

No cookie banner appears because there is nothing to consent to. You can verify all of this: open your browser's network tab and reload. Every request goes to privatu.com.au and nowhere else.

03What we collect

If you join the notify list

Your email address, and the date you submitted it. Nothing else. We do not ask for a name and there is no field for one.

If you send an enquiry

The reply address or handle you give us, the topic you pick, and what you write. If you would rather not put an enquiry in email, use Signal or Threema instead — the handles are on the front page — and this site never sees it.

Server logs

Cloudflare, our host, records the ordinary things a web server records: an IP address, a timestamp, the page requested and a user-agent string. These are held by Cloudflare for its own security and abuse handling, not by us. We do not read them, we do not analyse them, and we cannot connect them to a name — see how long we keep it for what we can and cannot tell you about them.

We do not use any of this to build a profile, and we do not combine it with anything from anywhere else.

04Where it goes

Some of the services that make this page work are based overseas. Australian Privacy Principle 8 says we have to tell you that plainly, so here it is.

WhoWhereWhat they handle
Cloudflare, Inc.United StatesHosts the site and stores form submissions. Keeps short-lived request logs including IP addresses.
Resend, Inc.United StatesDelivers form submissions to our mailbox. Sees the contents of what you submit, in transit.
Proton AGSwitzerlandOur mailboxes. Holds enquiries and list signups once they arrive.

That is the complete list. No analytics provider, no advertising network, no marketing platform, no CRM, in any country. The notify list is not held by a mailing-list service — it is a set of addresses we control.

05How long we keep it

Notify-list address
Deleted once the launch message has gone out
Enquiry correspondence
Deleted 12 months after the question is answered
Server request logs
Held by Cloudflare, not by us

The notify list has one purpose and one use. When units open we send one message, and then the list is deleted — not archived, not kept for a second campaign. There is no second campaign.

Request logs are the one thing we cannot give you a number for. They are held by Cloudflare, our host, for its own security and abuse handling. Cloudflare does not publish a fixed retention period for them, and we will not invent one — its privacy policy states that data is kept for as long as the purposes described in that policy require. What we can tell you is that on our plan we have no access to those raw logs at all: we cannot query them, we cannot export them, and we could not produce them if we were asked to.

Removal means deleted, not flagged as unsubscribed and kept. You do not have to explain why, and we will not ask.

07Lawful requests

If we receive a valid legal order compelling us to hand something over, we will comply with what it actually requires and nothing more. We will tell you it happened unless we are legally prohibited from telling you.

The honest protection here is that there is almost nothing to hand over. An email address and a date is the whole file. We designed it that way deliberately: the strongest privacy guarantee is not holding the data.

08Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your information, write to hello@privatu.com.au and we will answer within 30 days. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

If something here is unclear, ask us and we will say so plainly.
